Duck Lake – Haslam Lake Railway

I didnt have much time the this particularly, so I decided to go to Duck Lake in Powell River, now this is a truly well travelled area, by ATV’s, 4 Wheelers, Cars, Trucks, Hikers, Bikers. Well the following pictures are taken right near the Duck Lake Bridge, and when I was a kid I used to walk across this tresle, although shakey then, it was still intact to a large degree, I had certainy wished I had taken photos back then. Parts of this tresle stand no more than 5 feet off the road, and most of the tresle is visible to those passing by. I have seen some Art Photo’s of these tresles, soon enough, wind, weather, and a swollen river will carry most of what is left of a railway junction that ran from Haslam, to Duck, down to Myrtle and LangBay. The trains that must have past through here I am sure are well documented by the two local Museums.

I also did a very short video of this tresle, it might give a better impression of how high these things stood.
