I was talking to someone the other day and was telling him about the Railcar wheels I had located with a few friends of mine about 3 months ago. The search began when I went to give someone an estimate about something and we got to talking about the history around Powell River and he then told me that 20 or 30 years ago there used to be an old railbed on his property and a few things lying around. I asked him if they were still there? and he said well he hasnt been in the bush there for 20 years or so but they were then. I asked if I could go look and he said sure, go ahead so we did. Andy McLoed, Pat Haist, and myself went tromping though the bush an in a short amount of time, we came across an old camp of some sort, and we did find some items still there, including a railcar wheel. This story as I told it recently to a friend of mine was funny actually because we transfers some rough terrain, need 4×4’s, ATV’s, we hike, we use boats, underwater camera’s and this find of things you want to find in the far reaches of the forest, sat not 25 feet off a well used Regional District paved road where 30 to 40 people drive by daily. Anyhow not many pictures, but here they are.
